What is an eyelash lift?

For having long, black, and attractive eyelashes, perseverance is essential. Curling and styling lashes with an eyelash curler, using mascara primer, applying multiple layers of mascara, and ultimately enhancing the beauty and allure of the eyes with false lashes all these steps can be quite time-consuming. Additionally, these procedures may lead to eyelash shedding and compromise their natural condition. This is where eyelash lift comes to the rescue! This process, by providing semi-permanent, beautifully styled lashes, helps maintain the elegance and curvature of individuals’ lashes.

What is an eyelash lift? Is it applicable to everyone? How does the process work? Can eyelash lifts be done at home? What is the difference between eyelash lift and lash lamination? These are questions we intend to answer in this article. If you also want to lift your lashes, we recommend staying with us until the end of the article.

Eyelash lift refers to the process of giving lashes a lifted appearance from the base to the tip, making the full length of the lashes visible. The lift eliminates the need for an eyelash curler and imparts a curled shape to the lashes. There are various types of eyelash lifts, including daily or keratin eyelash lifts, lash volume lifts (LVL), and at-home eyelash lifts.

It’s worth mentioning that although lash lifting may appear straightforward in various videos, it should never be attempted alone or entrusted to non-professionals. Eyelash lift is particularly suitable for individuals accustomed to using an eyelash curler daily or those with straight and uncurled lashes.

Eyelash lift works best for longer lashes, and individuals with shorter lashes are recommended to use lash serums or strengtheners before getting a lift to enhance the results. The beauty process itself is not at all daunting, and individuals generally do not experience pain or discomfort. However, it is crucial to keep the eyes closed during the lifting process. The procedure, which takes 45 to 60 minutes, involves using special chemical substances that differ from those used in eyebrow lifts, ensuring no harm is done to the eyes when kept closed.

Eyelash lift is a non-threatening method of shaping and beautifying the eyes, with no known side effects. However, if you have sensitive skin or eyes, it’s better to request a patch test from the person performing the lift. Two drops of the solution can be applied behind your ear, and after waiting at least 15 minutes, if there is no inflammation, burning, itching, or similar issues in the treated area, you can proceed with the eyelash lift.

This process of lash lifting at Sholeh Academy begins with a consultation. Initially, the individual is asked about the desired style and size of the lift. Based on the person’s response, a specific and suitable size of silicone is chosen for the lift. Then, the person should close their eyes throughout the process of lash lifting.

To begin, the area around the eyes is first cleaned, and then a silicone pad is placed with adhesive on the eyelid. Using a spoolie or brush, the lashes are separated from each other, and a special solution for the lashes is applied onto the silicone.

Once it is ensured that the lashes are not sticking together, the lashes are saturated with a lifting lotion. The lifting lotion needs to stay on the lashes for 6 to 12 minutes. Afterward, a fixing lotion and keratin are applied to maintain the curled shape of the lashes, provide hydration, and enhance the longevity of the lift. Some individuals may use color for additional beauty. This darkens the lashes, giving them a more attractive appearance.

The overall eyelash lift process takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes and lasts for 6 to 8 weeks. However, the duration of the lift depends entirely on how well the lashes are maintained after the process, and adherence to a few tips can extend its longevity. To maintain the lashes’ appearance 6 weeks after the lift, it is recommended to do it again.
